Flash animating basics! [24 Fps]
Before reading this tutorial, i recommend to read this one:
xSwiftxClawx Guide. READ IT
XSwiftxClawX Basic flash tutorial.
This is a tutorial about the basics of animating in flash.
Here you'll learn how to make smooth stances, walking and fighting.
First set the Fps ( Frames per second ) to 24!

Now you've done that. we start of with walking.
First import the 4 walking frames
Edit>Import>Import to library.

Now take the first walking frame. and add it into a new keyframe.

Then right click and press: Convert to symbol > Graphic.

Then double click on the first walking frame.
Then you'll appear in a new scene.
then make the 1st frame 4 frames long.
Then add another keyframe and add the second walking frame.
Align the head. and then put it 1 pixel down. And make it 6 frames long
Then then do the same and add the 3rd. align it with the head. and put it one pixel up (from the 2nd frame) make it 4 frames long
Then the 4th frame. align it to the head. and do it 1 pixel down ( from the 3rd frame) make it 6 frames long.

Then double click somewhere else into the scene.
and press Ctrl + R. look if the walking is good.
It should look like this:
Now your going to tween it.
Make ur character from 1 frame to another. i would say 90 frames.
Then put the 1st frame before the white opening.

And the 90th frame to the end

But for other lenghts of walking. make it longer till it looks good
Then motion tween
Like this:

Then right click in the frames and press motion tween.
Now it should look like this :
This is the walking part!

Re: Flash animating basics! [24 Fps]
The black lines are there because of the X and Y coordinates being a decimal. You have to change it to a whole number for the image to look like the original.

If its like X: 15.9 Y: 68.6 there will be a black/grey line some where. But if you have X: 15 Y: 68 there wont be any black/grey lines :D
Happy flashin XD

Pixel
What pixel thing are you talking about?
Oh Wait, nvm. I'm just wondering if you could tell us how many frames do each movements need to be wide apart for every movement of a character. Also, how did you find out?
How do you guys upload those animations on this web?

Re: Flash animating basics! [24 Fps]
it is not general. Everybody has their preferences. I, save my animation as a swf file, then upload it onto a websiteand then copy the url into the link button helpfully between the colour adjustment and the picture button.

Then go animate.
Seriously.
If you know everything there is to do something, that doesn't mean you can do it.
Say you know everything about football. But can you actually go out on the field and throw the ball at your teammate 20 yards away?
(You don't learn how to do something unless you experience it.)

But he wants to learn something first. It's like solving an advanced math problem without knowing how to add or subtract, XD.
Okay, not that bad but, :).
Nice tutorial, waiting for the rest! Can't do anything... :banghead:

Re: Flash animating basics! [24 Fps]
Yeah, but it's on your part to learn how to put skills like jumping, walking, and whatnot to make a fighting animation and to make it smooth.
You guys are giving me the image of a beginning artist that knows how to use draw, but needs someone to tell them where to draw their first line.
