A simple tutorial on how to create edited poses.

Post by Miki on Tue May 05, 2009 11:00 pm

Welcome to my first tutorial. I will be showing you on how to create edited poses using bannedstory. It is one of the most simplest way on creating "custom" poses.
We will be creating with bannedstory and only bannedstory.
Step one: Open the online or offline bannedstory. (I myself will be using offline)
Your interface should look like this if you are using the offline bannedstory :http://i42.tinypic.com/ad11km.png
From then on, you create a character (you should know how if you don't learn how in a different place =-=)
Step two: Once you have created your character, on the right sided toolbar, you should see your character layer and two buttons, one looking like a opened computer folder and the other, a plus sign. Click on the first button. (the two buttons are circled in black and the one you should click is circled in red. http://i42.tinypic.com/25zqtsw.png
Step three: Once you click the button, a window will pop up. It tells you the character frame you're using and you'll see face frames. Click on the arrow that allows you to change your character stance
and select Standing 2. http://i40.tinypic.com/ffahj4.png
Your character should now look like this: http://i40.tinypic.com/2vmg2f4.png
Step three: On the right hand tool bar again, at the bottom you should see a lightning bolt icon, a colour wheel icon, a camera icon and a trash can icon, click on the lightning bolt icon.

Step 4: Your character should be duplicated into many raster layers: http://i42.tinypic.com/23i6vqe.png
Click on the 2nd and 3rd raster layers and either click on the trash can icon or delete.
http://i42.tinypic.com/aw7ora.png
After, delete the original copy and save your image. Your image should be this: http://i41.tinypic.com/2zs4mr5.png

Hope I helped~ Any questions, comments or concerns, pm me or post here. Post your outcome!

Not so fast kirimy... Miki just be sure to add you may have to do some outside editing to make it look right.

@Someone who quoted me.
The 'little hand' doesn't really mess up anything, IMO.
It kinda shows that he's hanging his thumb out, like some people do often.

Forgot to say, I was a lurker who was around for a looong time. I just decided to show myself now. You can call me Akira. Nice to meet you all.

It's still editing if you delete/copy frames unless you draw them which then would be considered spriting.
